Picardo Farm's composting toilet is unveiled

Something new has sprouted in the Picardo Farm P-Patch, but it took a lot longer to get established than what is normally planted.

The city's first public composting toilet was unveiled today by the Department of Neighborhoods.  It replaces the Honey Bucket that had been used from April to October.

It was a long process to the volunteers at the farm to get the toilet established, including a number of permits from the city and county.

But it is now open for all to use.
